“Invalid protocol, expecting 1011, got 1010″ Left 4 Dead connect to server problems
Left 4 Dead is one of the leading LAN games in most internet cafe gaming computer shop in the Philippines. Left 4 Dead is an absolute blast when you play with one or more competent teammates. But lately a lot of players are complaining about this problem when joining a served game either through LAN or online.
“Invalid protocol, expecting 1011, got 1010″
The problem exist when a the host/server hasn’t been update, the protocol version simply means version/clients connecting are using 1011, whereas the server is still version 1010. You have to force an update via hldsupdatetool.
Expecting 1011 means the pc you are using installed with Left 4 Dead means it has the latest updated version 1011. The host/server must repatch or updated the Left 4 Dead Game.
